candle care

to get the most out of your candle, a few small things matter.

the first burn

light it and let it burn until the entire surface has melted evenly — usually 2 to 3 hours. this prevents tunneling and lets the candle burn cleanly for its full life.

trim the wick

before every burn, trim the wooden wick to about 1/8". this keeps the flame small, steady, and soot-free.

safety

never leave a burning candle unattended. keep away from drafts, pets, and anything flammable. stop burning when about 1/4" of wax remains.

when it's done

the jar is beautiful — wash it out and keep it. a match holder, a pencil cup, a tiny vase. give it a second life.
